  2. Haha, all that talk about butt cracks on Mommy's Quiet Time sure cracked me up! :D BTW, there's a product similar to this one for pregnant chicks called The Tummy Sleeve. I found it to be a life saver! It allowed me to wear my normal pants unzipped while I was pregnant (it was strong enough to hold the pants up and long enough to hide the unzipped crotch), so I didn't have to buy any maternity clothes! I don't know if you've noticed, but most maternity pants are uuuuugly! Not to mention expensive! Just in case you decide to get one one of these when the time comes, it's around $20 at most maternity stores (Motherhood Maternity, Thyme, etc.) or you can get a no-name version for around $10 on Ebay. I haven't tried that one, so I don't know if it's as good, but for $10 I figure it's worth a shot!

  3. I've been thinking about these, my pregnant friends are all starting to need them - I was thinking they'd be pretty easy to make. Although I don't have a serger (which would be perfect) I do have a sewing machine and a decent grasp of the concept, jersey fabric isn't that expensive. Hmmmm!

Like Bloggymommy was mentioning on Mommy's Quiet Time, I have a number of shirts that are just fine, love the way they fit, but with jeans going lower lately they do leave that gap which I hate! I usually wear a tank underneath but I like this idea better!

  4. Yeah, for a while I was having trouble finding tops and jeans that overlapped even without me being pregnant or bending over. I bet my (predominantly male) colleagues have gotten quite an eyeful of my undies/butt crack while I was crawling around under my desk connecting and disconnecting cables almost daily. :) Then again, my middle-aged boss usually wears jeans with gaping holes in them, so he probably didn't think much of it. Still, it's nice to know that your assets are covered and this hip-t thing sure seems like a good idea.

Making your own tummy sleeve/hip-t is an awesome idea, too! I didn't think of it nor did I have a sewing machine back when I was pregnant, but perhaps some day soon I might attempt that, too. I can't imagine it costing you more than a couple of bucks and a little bit of time.. Maybe you could start your own tummy sleeve company and then people will be giving away your hip-t's (Em-t's?) at their blogs! :)
